Partnership with Parents

We aim to recognise and support you as parents and as your child’s first and most important educators, and to welcome you into the life of the nursery.

We always:

  • Ensure that parents are aware of the nursery’s policies and procedures. A detailed parent information pack is provided and our full policy documents are available to parents at all times in the nursery office and in reception.

  • Maintain regular contact with parents to help us to build a secure and beneficial working relationship for your children.

  • Inform parents about nursery activities and events through regularly distributed newsletters, at hand over and on the parents’ notice board.

  • Operate a key person system to enable a close working relationship with all parents. Support two-way information sharing regarding each child’s individual needs both in nursery and at home.

  • Inform parents on a regular basis about your child’s progress and involve you in the shared record keeping. Parents’ evenings are held termly.

  • Provide opportunities for parents to learn about the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and about young children's learning in the nursery and at home.

  • Respect the family’s religious and cultural backgrounds and beliefs and accommodate any special requirements wherever possible and practical.

We continually seek ways of getting feedback from parents which we use to evaluate and develop our practice. We welcome your views and ideas.
