Staff show genuine affection and care towards the children. They teach children what is expected of them during daily routines and activities. Children are polite and take care of others. Ofsted 2022 Staff know the children well. They know what they want children to learn next and they understand how to build on what children already know and can do.

The variety of food on offer has always been amazing - Sophia and William have tried lots of different, nutritious meals and I think they eat better at nursery than they do at home!

Staff support children's language and communication development well. Ofsted 2022 The manager has high expectations for the setting. She reviews and evaluates practice to strive for improvement continuously. The manager and staff work effectively in partnership with parents on all aspects of children's learning and care, including school transitions. Parents speak highly of the setting and are aware of the progress their children are making. Parents feel that their children are ready for school.

Communication has always been great and is now even better through the use of Tapestry. Smarties have always emailed regularly to keep us up to date and also to help with suggestions for healthy meals, activities and learning games etc.

Elspeth was so full of beans when she came home and couldn’t wait to tell us all about her trip to the allotment with nursery. She told us in detail about the seeds and how they planted them and all about the chickens! Thank you so much for taking them.

Smarties is a fabulous setting, which is why we have had total confidence in sending our 3 children there. Excellent staff and creative ways of teaching have been instrumental in the progress and development that the children show. Cannot praise more highly and cannot recommend enough!

Amazing nursery and would recommend to any parent thinking about sending their child there. My daughter has been there since she was 9-months old and has grown into the most kind, caring confident little girl and a lot of credit and thanks goes to all the staff at Smarties. She is moving on to reception from September and although it will be very emotional, I know she will flourish there because of all that she gained whilst being at Smarties. Thank you to all the amazing ladies at Smarties who have always been so kind, understanding and supportive in every step of our journey .
